Asia´s emerging markets are affecting also the small to medium-sized businesses such as the herbal industry sector. Especially the startup sector is booming in Asia and this also includes the relatively young sector of the Herbal Industry. Every year the top 100 companies in the herbal industry are meeting at the Herbal Asia Conference and Exhibitions in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). The exhibition and conference is the only place in Asia where manufacturers, distributors, and scientists can meet, exchange and inform about latest trends, newest technologies and market development.
As a delegate speaker, Dr Markus Heidak (#FORTSCHRITT Global Partner Middle East) spoke about new forms of strategic business alliances with a clear focus on small to medium-sized companies and startups. He presented different possibilities for young entrepreneurs to form an alliance aside the usual and classical forms (e.g. joint venture, cooperatives).
The main idea is to think outside the box and use the possibility of an alliance partner as a marketing tool. A current trend is, for example, the social entrepreneur movement. Companies are forming an alliance with social projects and social institutions in order to increase their social image and to get one step ahead in the global competition. This idea can also be transferred to combine businesses with environmental initiatives or any type of education projects. In Asia, this way of doing business and combining something positive with a product is still new and offers nearly unlimited possibilities. For #FORTSCHRITT it was a great opportunity and honour to inform and to consult local Asian entrepreneur with future orientated German approach and strategies.
